Welcome to the NJEDPA
The New Jersey Equine Dental Providers Association is a New Jersey Non Profit Corporation. It is an Association for Equine Dental Providers and their supporters.
"Equine Dental Provider" is the modern legal name for the traditional tradesmen and women known as "Floaters" who have been providing dental maintenance for horses for hundreds of years. For details on how to become a member and support the trade of EDPs, please visit our "Membership" page and join our association. Membership is priced to allow everyone an opportunity to support their equine dental professional. |

Professionalism |
Education |
The NJEDPA expects all EDP members to conduct themselves in a professional manner with care and respect shown to all horses and their owners.
Traditional to ModernThe NJEDPA has members whose practices combine the art and science of equine dental in many different ways. The practices span the last forty years and offer services to all parts of the equine industry.
The NJEDPA encourages EDPs to practice to the highest standard of practice but leaves the use of traditional or modern equipment (or a combination of the two) to the professional judgment of the EDP. |
The NJEDPA requires members to obtain continuing education hours. The NJEDPA primarily recognizes the International Association of Equine Dentistry and the Equine Dental Providers of America as the two equine dental organisations where excellent continuing education is available. However, CE hours can be obtained at other NJEDPA approved events.
Respect for Horses and their OwnersThe NJEDPA was established with respect for the horses and owners with which EDPs work everyday. By respecting the horses and their owners, the NJEDPA knows that our members will provide high quality dental maintenance and service to their many clients for decades.
|
New Jersey and the surrounding States have hundreds of thousands of horses. The quality of equine dental maintenance in this region is extremely high. The vast majority of that dental care is provided by tradesmen and women in the tradition of the Equine Dental Floaters and the Farriers of Europe. The equine trades of Floating and Farriery are traditional trades which preserve the art of the traditional work and combines that artistry with the science of modern times. They are trades which are alive and well but need to be preserved for future generations of horses and their caring owners.
Support Equine Dental Providers
All trades and professions need to be able to communicate and share knowledge and experience among those in their chosen industry. The NJEDPA offers EDP-professionals an Association where they can find the helpful sharing of information and the support that comes from like-minded individuals supporting each other and their craft.
